Raytheon Solipsys Awarded Common Aviation C2 Contract for USMC
The U.S. Marine Corps has awarded a contract to Raytheon Solipsys, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN), for a new Common Aviation Command and Control System (CAC2S).
The new command and control system provides comprehensive tracking, display, training and simulation capabilities, and meets joint net-ready capability standards now required of all DoD C2 systems. The new system significantly enhances a legacy Marine Air Command and Control System with operational, technical and performance limitations.
“Raytheon Solipsys will provide deployed Marines with a vastly improved CAC2S capability,” said Mark Trenor, Solipsys’ president. “Highly specialized command and control systems, shared awareness displays, and aircraft controls are what we do best. Working closely with the Marine Corps Systems Command, I’m confident our industry team will deliver the right capability, on budget and on schedule.”
